Directions from Porto Airport
- Follow the 'Saida' / Exit signs
- Follow the BLUE sign for Porto / Braga / Vila Real
- Continue following these signs until IC 24 signs appear
- Follow the road DOWN & ROUND onto the IC 24 (Maia 7)
- From now on follow the BLUE signs these indicate motorway for A1 LISBOA / SUL (South)
- You will pass the new Stadium on your right on the outskirts of Porto
- The A1 is a TOLL motorway & at the toll point ('Portagem') you need to press the button & take a ticket. Do NOT lose this ticket. You will need it as you leave the motorway. The payment needs to be in Euros.
- Continue along this motorway until you eventually see signs for the IP3 COIMBRA NORTE (north). Take this turn & continue on the IP3. Road signs will also mention: Viseu / Guarda / Souselas / Luso / Penacova as you travel along.
- You need to travel approx. 23kms on the IP3 until you see the sign for: IC 6 COVILHA / Arganil / Oliveira do Hospital TAKE THIS ROAD
- Coming to a roundabout, take the N 17 signposted TABUA / Oliveira Hospital. Stay on this winding road until reaching the village of Venda de Esperanca where you will see a signpost on your left indicating COVAS there is also a blue sign here indicating 'Turismo Rural'. Turn LEFT here. (Whilst travelling on the N 17 you will see other turn-offs for Tabua & Covas IGNORE all these turn-offs until reaching Venda de Esperanca).
- This is a bumpy country road!! Follow this for quite a while until until the crossroads with a main tar road. Turn RIGHT here for the Quinta following the bendy road for a short distance. There is a sign on the LEFT for the Quinta (Quinta do Vale de Ferreiro) this is a dirt farm track which you follow down & round to the house.
If you get to the village you have gone too far and missed the turning.
